My Great Grandmother was a wonderful woman. Everyone who knew her loved her, and we've all missed her terribly since shes been gone.
We called her GG, and I made sure to spend at least a couple of days a month helping her bake apple pies and listening to her stories of the Depression and growing up in Kansas during the Dust Bowl Days.
She was a deeply religious woman, but not in the least way "Holier Than Thou"
I believe she was what Christ had in mind when He walked the shores of Galilee preaching to love your neighbors as yourself.
Still, of all the great advice and sage wisdom she passed on to me, there is one that has stuck with me forever.
A friend (presumably) had hurt me terribly and I was talking to her about it. She said:
It's always important to be forgiving, but there are pleanty of people who are only alive because it's illegal to kill them.
