For many years now, I have awoken each morning to curse fate for putting me in Colorado.
But a few days ago I remembered something...
When I was in high school I used to tell everyone that when I finished collage I was going to live in Colorado. They scoffed, they scorned and I swore that one day I would.
I never finished collage, but I did end up in Colorado.
But a few days ago I woke up and looked at the beautiful mountains, smelled the conifers, and listened to the everpresent rushing of water.
I hated being in Colorado because I was not here on my terms. I wanted to finish collage FIRST. I wanted to move here with a smile on my face and the pure joy of escape running throughout my body.
Instead I moved here because my father threw me out of the house.
But a few days ago I decided to love what I love because I love it, rather than hate it because I hate who sent me to what I love. I am never leaving this state if I can help it.
